My First Blog

So I've been putting this off for a while, because i don't know how to start this stuff. But today i woke up hungover and the truth is when i'm hungover, i usually don't second guess or think twice about things as much. Somewhere along the way, after dancing to Michael Jackson songs for hours at the Creekside Lounge in Austin last night; I realized that it doesn't matter if you're black or white, it doesn't matter if you can't dance, it doesn't matter if you're fat or thin....... sometimes you just have to sit down and write a blog. 

I'm hoping to use this as a tool to talk about music making, music news, and whatever else I feel like. Also I'm hoping through this blog, to get inspired, learn from other bloggers, and meet some new people.

I'll try not to go on and on here....... but basically about 10 months ago, I stopped playing guitar all together. I was tired of writing the same old songs and needed a change. So I started listening to a lot of music I'd never liked before to get inspired. In May of 2009, I started playing again and have been pushing myself to finally get some work done. Eventually, I'd like to record one of the greatest albums ever made. For right now, I'm recording in my closet studio and experimenting with some new sounds.  I'm also looking to get out and play some gigs once again.

In a couple months, I'm hoping to start recording a 5 song demo each month and posting it on my music site (www.myspace.com/johnnymazcko).  I'd love to get some feedback once the tunes are posted........ more to come.
